Kaufland builds a new logistics centre in Romania

Schwarz Group-owned hypermarket operator Kaufland is to build a new logistics centre in Mihai Viteazu village, near Cluj-Napoca, Romania to ensure timely supply to its Transylvanian stores, Planet Retail reports.

This is a second Kaufland logistic centre in Romania, after the one in Ploieşti.

Construction of the new site, which covers an area of 130,000 square metres, will be completed in 2012 with the first section to be inaugurated this spring.
