The new CEO of cora Romania is, starting with April 2022, Aura Rădulescu, who will lead a new management team and who has as objectives for the next three years relaunching the company growth and consolidating the commercial model.
cora continued to develop its most new concept, cora Urban, by opening two new stores in Bucharest, reaching a total of 5 such a convenience units.
Retail – Lidl
Lidl Romania opened a new store in Sacalaz, Timis district, on 7th of April, one store in Roman on 11th of April, one store in Timisoara and one in Ploiesti on 14th of April, reaching 325 stores.
Under the umbrella For a better future, in 2021 financial year (1st of March 2021 – 28th of February 2022), Lidl Romania invested over 35 millions lei for lasting development of Romanian society.
Retail – Carrefour
Carrefour Romania announced the steps for integrating Ukrainian people on the labor market, by creating a number of 200 jobs of universal commercial worker in its national store network of hypermarkets, supermarkets and Supeco, meaning almost 260 units.
Carrefour launched Express Box, a new concept of product through which the company continues the commitment for concrete against food waste.
Carrefour Romania and BT Direct, the consumer finance division of Banca Transilvania Financial Group, launched a new shopping card with extra benefits in Carrefour stores.
Retail – Kaufland
Kaufland Romania announced „On the Language of the Romanians”, a new digital project that promotes popular expressions inspired by the Romanian gastronomic heritage.
Kaufland Romania results based also in 2021 on sustainable strategy assures the company, for the second year consecutively, the sustainability certificate from CHEP Romania, leader in renting reusable pallets, and confirms the quality of actions for protecting the environment undertaken by the retailer.
Kaufland Romania announced the benefits package offered in 2022 to over 15.000 employees from 152 stores in the country, from the 2 logistics platforms in Ploiesti and Turda and from central headquarters in Bucharest.
Retail – Auchan
Between 20th of October 2021 and 31st of January 2022, 45 entities (NGOs, kindergartens, schools, high schools and universities) responded to the call initiated by Auchan Foundation proposing projects to support healthy eating, with priority for disadvantaged categories.4
Auchan Romania launched a partnership with VTEX, enterprise platform for e-commerce, dedicated to brands and retailers, leader in accelerating digital commerce transformation, through which will integrate new functionalities for online buyers.
Recommerce Group, pioneer and leader in Europe in the field of smartphone refurbishment, signed a strategic partnership with Auchan Retail Romania.
Retail – PENNY
PENNY continued the expansion plan by opening a new store in Bistrita, one in Sibiu and one in Livezeni, reaching a national network of 310 stores. The retailer finished 2021 year with a market share of 5,39 billions lei, representing an advance of 14% reported to 2020.
