Thursday, February 24, 2011, Profi chain will open in Bucharest its 84th store in Romania, and the 12th store in the capital. The shop area measures 423, 34 m², with a sales area of 212 m².
On March 8, 2011, Profi will open a new store, its 85th in Romania, in Braşov. The shop area will measure 899,4 m², while the sales area will have only 392, 66 m². Profi Commercial Chain sells food, household and hygiene products in a wide assortment of over 4000 items.
Always located in the center of urban nods, Profi store is characterized by an exceptional quality/food rate, a convenient way of shopping and the discounts applied to certain food and non-food categories.
În March 2010, Profi Rom Food chain was entirely acquired by Polish Enterprise Fund VI, a private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors (EI), on a transaction worth 66 million euros.
Enterprise Investors is one of the largest private equity investors and venture capital firms in Central and Eastern Europe. The company manages a 1,7 billion euro capital in seven funds. Until now, these funds have invested 1,4 billion euros in 121 companies, of which 91 were sold, generating 1,4 billion euros. EI had an extensive experience in retail investment sector. Between 2004 and 2007, Enterprise Investors has held Artima, the largest independent supermarket chain in Romania at that time, which was sold three years ago to French retailer Carrefour.
