For employees to be able to spend the Easter together with their loved ones, the management of Lidl Romania decided this year that all employees from over 200 stores across the country will have two free days in this period.

Carrefour launched, for the first time in Romania, the first agricultural cooperative founded by a retailer, Carrefour Vărăşti Agricultural Cooperative.

The Ahold Delhaize retail group, the owner of Mega Image network, mentioned Romania in its annual report for 2016, as a global sales force, due to a significant increase in turnover in 2016.

Romania remains one of the best discount market inside the REWE Group, country which german retailer operates the Penny Market retail brand.

Olympus Romania, one of the biggest players on the local dairy market, announces the appointment of Athanasios Giannousis as Commercial Director, from which he will lead the company’s development plans in Romania.

The Board of Directors of the LACTALIS Group appointed Giampaolo MANZONETTO as Albalact Romania’s General Manager as of April 2017.

Ursus Breweries, the largest beer producer in Romania, launched its fifth Sustainability Report.

The beer market in Romania remained constant in terms of both production and consumption in 2016, announced the management of the Association of Romanian Brewers through Shachar Shaine, president of the Association and president of United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB).

Also, URBB expands its portfolio in Romania with five new special beers and completes the Timeless Collection. The 5 beers are called: Grimbergen Ambreé, Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, Angelo Poretti 4 Original Luppoli, Angelo Poretti 5 Luppoli Bock Chiara and
Angelo Poretti 6 Luppoli Bock Rossa.

In Romania, retail turnover increased in February 2017, compared with February 2016, by 4.8%, according to data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Romania’s retail volume increased by 0.7% in February 2017 compared to January 2017, making it the fourth most significant advance in the European Union, according to data provided by the European Institute of Statistics (Eurostat).
