Romania’s retail volume increased by 8.1% in April compared to the same period in 2014, the most significant advance registered in the European Union, according to data presented by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat).

Carrefour opened, in may, the 10th hypermarket in Bucharest and the 28th in the country, in the newest shopping center developed by NEPI, Mega Mall. Carrefour reached also, in this month, 96 Market stores, in Romania, his supermarket format.

Another store for german discounter Lidl, the 186 th store in Romania, was opened near Bucharest, in Otopeni, the city with the biggest airport from Romania.

Since 1 June 2015, the hypermarket customers from cora Alexandria, in Bucharest, can settle their purchases at the cash register directly from their smartphone by mobilPay Wallet application.
