retailRetail – Profi

Profi, the retailer that owns the network with the biggest national coverage and with the many stores in Romania, opened in January 2022 a number of 6 stores, the national network reaching 1595 units in total.

Retail – Lidl

In 2022, Lidl Romania consolidates the position of top employee on the local market and, for the sixth year in a row, received the distinction of Top Employer.

Retail – METRO

METRO Romania became affiliated member of the Employers’ Organization of Hotels and Restaurants in Romania (HORA), with which it will establish new developing directions, having in the center of the common activities the support and promotion of the hospitality industry.

Retail – Kaufland

Kaufland opened on 26th of January a new store in the 4th district of Bucharest. Thus, the company reaches a network of 148 stores in Romania, of which 18 are in Bucharest.

Retail – Carrefour & BRINGO

Starting with 3rd of January 2022, Catalin Samara, Operational and E-commerce Manager and member of the Executive Committee of Carrefour Romania, is the Manager of Bringo International, having the responsibility to coordinate the international activity of the personal shopping and delivery service.

Carrefour Romania announced that Gabriela Stanica took over the responsibilities of the  department of eCommerce, being Chief Information, Data Officer and eCommerce Manager, after the promotion of Catalin Samara as International Manager of Bringo.

Retail – PENNY

PENNY continued its expansion plan in Romania and opened 5 more stores în January 2022. Thus, the company reaches a network of 306 stores in Romania.

FMCG

Starting with 1st of January 2022, SCORILO, the producer of craft beer from Poiana Marului, joined the Romanian Brewers Association. Also in January, the members of the Romanian Brewers Association chose Mihai Voicu, Manager of BREGENBIER SA, as a President.

PepsiCo, global leader in the category of refreshments and food, included in its portfolio of snacks in Romania the brand Cheetos.

HEINEKEN Romania announced changes in the organizational structure and in the management team of the company.

Ursus Breweries, leader of the beer industry in Romania, consolidated its position of top employer on the local market, being the first beer producer company in the country that obtained, for the second year in a row, the Top Employers certificate.

Inter Conecter, the company from Timisoara specialized for over 20 years in the import of coffee sweets and premium food products, officially presented in Romania the range of sweets with Disney and Warner Bros license – Zàinithe Italian brand that dates since 1913.

Food Service

Sezamo, the new delivery service of food launched by Rohlik Group, one of the most important players on the online delivery market of food products in Europe, will launch in Romania in the first semester of 2022.

Obor21.ro, the first digital peasant cooperative in Romania, finished the second year of activity with a market share of 155.000 euro, marching an increase of 55% than the previous year.

Carrefour Romania and Bringo continued to extend in new cities, adding to the map Arad, Bacau and Craiova.

Services

The partnership between Salesforce, the #1 CRM platform in the world, with a portfolio of over 150.000 clients at global level, and Next Consult, the official reseller and the Gold implementation partner of Salesforce in Romania and Bulgaria, contributes to digitalize the retail industry with new innovative business growth technologies.

P3 Logistic Parks (P3) announced the balance of the leasing activity for 2021 in Romania.

Softlead, the marketplace that helps companies to choose the right software solution based on the digital DNA, announced the most important numbers of 2021, that shows the digitizing appetite of Romanian companies.

Packeta Romania, digital and global logistics platform, member of Packeta Group, the company with the biggest network of pick-up points in Central and Eastern Europe, will double the team in 2022 and estimates that it will exceed 140 employees until the final of the year.

Study

According to the second edition of the study „Trends and challenges in marketing in 2022”, made by Valoria in collaboration with Mind Shop communication agency, in present 79% of the companies put on the first place in their preoccupations the efficient generation of results, and 75% have as a challenge the execution of omnichannel strategies.
