Retail – Kaufland
Kaufland Romania opened a new store in Bals, Olt district, on Nicolae Balcescu Street no. 192 which represents the 147 hypermarket in the country.
Kaufland Romania has been named The most sustainable company in Romania, after the implication and major investment in the zone of projects with impact on the level of economy, community and environment.
Retail – PROFI
PROFI, the retailer that has the largest coverage and the largest chain of stores in Romania, opened in November 2021 a number of 20 stores and its national network reached 1.570 units. PROFI opened in December 2021 a number of 19 stores and is closing the year with a national network of 1589 units.
Kaufland Romania announced that in December 2021 offered to all the employees a series of special benefits whose value sums up over 5 millions euro gross.
Retail – Lidl
Lidl continued the investment in Romania by opening a new store in Salonta, Bihor district, on the 9th of December 2021, and four new stores on 16th of December, two in Bucharest, one in Fagaras and one in Cugir..

Carrefour Romania expanded rapidly its proximity format in many regions in the country by opening in december 6 new Express stores in Cluj-Napoza, Zalau, Sibiu and Husi in just one week.
Retail – Mega Image
Mega Image created a new private label, MEGA, that includes a complete range of food and non-food products, available in all the stores in Romania.
Retail – PENNY
PENNY discounter exceeded 300 stores in Romania by opening 7 new stores in December 2021, reaching 301 units at national level. PENNY also opened a standardized and modern deposit in Filiasi, Dolj district, after an investment of 26 millions euro.
Retail – cora
cora opened on 15th of December 2021 in Bucharest the third convenience store cora Urban, a new concept that offers multi-channel services to its clients.
Louis Delhaize group, active in France, Belgium and Luxemburg, present in Romania since 2003 with the cora hypermarket formats, announced that reached an agreement to sell the real estate portfolio in Romania, but maintaining all the commercial operations of cora hypermarkets in the country.

Lagardère Travel Retail, leader on the market of retail for travelers, announced the development of Inmedio network under the new position supported by directions, concepts, products and services categories and of new channels.
The retail network DIANA Stores continued its expansion plan by opening the 68th store.
FMCG
